Volunteers spent a bright, sunny morning on the East flank of Earl’s Hill clearing bramble in order to increase the habitat of the grayling butterfly. The butterfly, also known as the rock grayling, has suffered a serious decline in numbers in recent years.

After days clearing the third coupe, we planted approximately 200 hazel, oak, hawthorn, rowan and holly whips. Many hands made light work 🙂
